Ethics of Self-Experimentation

Guiding principles for responsible self-experimentation and publication.

Responsibility of Contributors

Contributors to the journal assume full responsibility for the design, execution, and consequences of their self-experiments. This includes a thorough understanding of the substances involved, potential risks, and relevant legal frameworks.

  • Comprehensive research and understanding of the substance and its effects.
  • Implementation of appropriate safety measures and harm reduction strategies.
  • Voluntary participation and informed consent in their own experiments.

Anonymity, Privacy, and Data Protection

The Society respects the privacy of its contributors. Our submission process allows for anonymous submissions under secure and verifiable procedures. Personally identifiable information will not be published without explicit written consent. We are committed to protecting the data of our contributors and adhering to relevant data protection regulations.

Scientific Integrity and Peer Review

The journal maintains a high standard of scientific integrity. All submissions undergo rigorous peer review by qualified experts to ensure scientific rigor, neutrality, and quality. The editorial board is committed to unbiased evaluation based on scientific merit.

Position on Substance Use and Legal Compliance

The society neither endorses nor condemns the use of psychoactive substances. The journal focuses on the scientific investigation of their effects and provides a platform for open discussion. Contributors are responsible for ensuring their experiments comply with all applicable laws and regulations. The journal does not promote or endorse any illegal activities.

Liability

Contributors assume full responsibility for their experiments. The Society, its board, and members warn that self-experimentation carries risks and accept no legal liability for any harm caused by such experiments.
